About DUSWDS
DUSWDS, which stands for Drupal U.S. Web Design System, is an open-source Drupal distribution created by an award winning website development agency Promet Source, inspired by the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS). Our goal was to contribute back to the federal community by providing a comprehensive, easy-to-use solution that adheres to the highest standards of accessibility and usability. With DUSWDS, federal agencies can build websites that are not only visually appealing but also user-centric and aligned with federal guidelines.

Our mission is to create a CMS Starting kit that empowers federal agencies with the tools and resources they need to create accessible, efficient, and user-friendly websites. By leveraging the power of open-source technology and the principles of the US Web Design System, we strive to enhance the digital experience for all users.

Our History
With over 20 years of experience building websites for state and federal government agencies, we have a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements in this field. Our journey has started when we introduced opens source to the executive office of the president in 2004. Since then we’ve hand build and crafted multiple websites for the federal government. This journey, along with the emergence of USWDS has made us realize that there is a need for a USWDS aligned platform and this culminatied in the creation of DUSWDS to further support our federal clients. We have taken the lessons learned from building other federal websites and applied them to this distribution, creating a platform that can be leveraged to create many different types of federal websites that are USWDS-aligned.
